Steve Hencher has been involved with the design, analysis and supervision of many types of foundations and failure of foundations, for example of pad footings for the Sual Power Station, of temporary slopes for the IFC Building in Seoul, large pad foundations for a nuclear power station at Ulsan and piles in Malaysia and Singapore. He led a team on Halcrow for the design check of large diameter bored piles for the 2nd Incheon Bridge in Korea and was invited to present a paper at the bridge opening ceremony. since then he was involved in the checking of the rock anchorage for a large suspension bridge in Turkey (for CH2M) as detailed in Practical Rock Mechanics.
